Service Agreement

By engaging Bernie’s Pest Control for pest management services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These form a legally binding agreement between you (the Client) and Bernie’s Pest Control.

Scope of Services

We provide pest management solutions for residential and commercial properties. Our services include the inspection, treatment, and prevention of pests as outlined in the accepted verbal service plan.

Service Appointments

• Appointments will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
• The Client is responsible for ensuring the property is accessible and suitably prepared for our technicians on the day of service.

Preparation Requirements

To achieve the best results, the Client must follow all preparation instructions provided prior to treatment. These may include:

• Removing or covering food and utensils.
• Protecting sensitive items or equipment.
• Vacating the premises (including pets) during treatment when advised to do so.

Payment Terms

• Payment is due within 2 weeks of the completed appointment.
• We accept cash, bank transfer, and credit card payments.
• Credit card payments may incur a small surcharge.  
• All quoted prices include GST and any additional charges listed in the quotation or verbally as inspections unfold.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Clients must provide at least 3 days’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booking.
• Cancellations or changes made within this period may incur a cancellation fee.

Terms and Conditions – Pest Control Warranty

General Warranty Coverage

Our pest control services are carried out to the highest professional standards using approved products and methods.
Warranty coverage applies only to the specific pests and areas treated, as stated on your service report or invoice.

1. Residential Properties

Warranty Period

Unless otherwise stated, the standard warranty periods are:

• General Pests (Ants, Spiders, Cockroaches, Silverfish):
  Up to 12 months warranty – for Internal only, from the date of service.
  We recommend annual (12-monthly) treatments to maintain optimal protection.
• High-Density Bushland Areas (e.g. Tamborine Mountain):
  Our General Pest Warranty – for Internal only, is up to 6 months only.
  As these environments experience higher pest pressure, and a greater risk of re-infestation beyond normal control conditions.
  For best results, we recommend 6-monthly treatments for such properties.
• Termite Treatments:
  Warranty coverage and inspection schedules are as outlined in the specific quotation or treatment notice.

2. Body Corporate, Tenanted & Commercial Properties

Warranty Period

• Body Corporate Complexes, Rental Properties, and Commercial Premises:
  Up to 6 months warranty – for Internal only, from the date of service.
  Due to frequent movement of goods, boxes, or tenants, these environments can lead to faster pest reintroduction and reduced treatment longevity.
• In some cases, internal treatment warranty may be limited to 1–3 months, depending on conditions observed at the time of service.
  Please discuss with your technician at the time of treatment for confirmation of the applicable warranty period.

3. Warranty Conditions

Warranty remains valid only when:

• Recommended hygiene, maintenance, and access conditions are maintained.
• No renovations or alterations disturb treated areas.
• No other pest control company performs treatments during the warranty period.
• All entry points and conducive conditions (e.g. leaks, vegetation contact, rubbish build-up) are managed by the property owner or occupants.

4. Exclusions

Warranty does not cover:

• German cockroaches, fleas, bed bugs, rodents, or termites unless specifically treated and noted on the invoice.
• Re-infestations arising from external sources, neighbouring properties, or poor hygiene/storage practices.
• Damage caused by pests or failure to follow recommendations listed in the service report.

5. Warranty Service Calls

If pest activity reoccurs within the warranty period, please contact us promptly.
We will arrange an inspection and, where applicable, re-treat affected areas at no charge.

If the issue is found to be outside warranty terms or unrelated to the original service, a standard service fee may apply.

Liability

While we take care to avoid damage, Bernie’s Pest Control will not be liable for any damage to property, furniture, equipment, or belongings during the course of treatment.

Access to Property

The Client must ensure full access to all treatment areas. This may require moving furniture, appliances, or obstructions prior to service.

Safety Measures

For safety reasons, pets and children must be kept clear of treated areas for the duration advised by our technician.

Confidentiality

Bernie’s Pest Control respects your privacy. Any personal information collected will be kept secure and will not be disclosed to third parties unless required by law.

Feedback & Concerns

We welcome Client feedback. If you have questions or concerns regarding our services, please contact our team directly.

Changes to Terms

Bernie’s Pest Control may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will take effect once published on our website.
